Registration Questions and Answers

What are the age requirements for Bright Beginnings?
Children enrolling in our program MUST be at least 2 years, 7 months old on the first day of school.  Children who do not meet this requirement must wait until they are 2.7 months old to officially attend the program, provided we have spaces available.  You may enroll in January, however, your child may not start until the month of eligibility.  This is in compliance with the Department of Human Services and Department of Education regulations for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 

What days of the week do you offer Bright Beginnings?
Monday through Friday in combination of 2-day and 3-day options. All classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon.

How many days can I sign up for?
You can choose from our 2-day option (Tues/Thurs) or from our 3-day options (Mon/Tues/Thurs OR Mon/Wed/Fri).  These class options are set and the curriculum is designed to accommodate those class options.

Can I request a certain teacher or classroom?
We do not encourage special requests – the program is the same regardless of teacher or room. Special requests are considered but not guaranteed.

Can I request for my child to be put in the same class as her friend?
Again, special requests are considered but not guaranteed. A classmate request needs to appear on both children’s forms in order to be considered.

What is the cost for Bright Beginnings?
The tuition is $200 per month for the 2-day class and $225 per  month for the 3-day class.  Tuition is collected monthly. Tuition is due at the beginning of each month.  Credit is not given for days missed due to illness or other absence.  There is a $75 nonrefundable enrollment fee in addition to a one-time $75 materials fee which is used towards the purchase of craft materials.

Is there a penalty if I decide not to have my child attend Bright Beginnings after I register him/her?
No there is not a penalty; however, the $75 registration fee is non-refundable.

What form of payment do you accept for the registration fee?
You may pay with cash, check or on the Church’s website. Checks should be made payable to Asbury UMC.  You may also set up an autopay plan on the website at www.AsburyLV.org. On the home page, select GIVE and follow the prompts to setup a one-time or recurring payment. Make sure you select PRESCHOOL and BRIGHT BEGINNINGS TUITION as the designated fund to ensure that credit goes to the proper account!

When can I register?
Registration is open beginning in January, 2024.

How do I register?
Registration forms will be accepted at the welcome desk by the main entrance, brought in person to Asbury or mailed.  At this time registration forms cannot be submitted online. Mailed forms should be sent to:

How will I be notified of the status of my registration?
An email will be sent to you confirming your spot in the program. In the case where an email address is not provided a confirmation will be mailed to your home. Please add the Bright Beginnings email address to your address book so that the email does not go to your SPAM file. bb@asburylv.org and BowermasterK@gmail.com.

When will I find out my room/teacher assignment?
You will not find out your room/teacher assignment until August.  Waiting until August to make final room assignments ensures the best mix of children in each class. (i.e.: boy-girl ratio)

When will classes start?
Bright Beginnings classes begin the the week that Parkland School District opens with a Meet and Greet the teachers for parents and children.

What happens next?
You will receive an email in mid-August with your child’s room and teacher assignment. There will also be information about our Meet and Greet the Teachers which will be held the last week of August (when Parkland SD starts). The Meet and Greet is an informal time for you and your child to come see the classroom, meet the teachers and get to know some of their classmates prior to the first day of school.

When is my first tuition check due?
Your first tuition check is due in September after school begins.

My child has a well-visit coming up over the summer. Is there a form my pediatrician needs to complete?
Yes there is a Health Form for your pediatrician to complete.  Click here to download a copy of the form.

Facility Tours — Offered by appointment only Mon-Thurs between the hours of 12:30-3:00 p.m.

Call or email Bright Beginnings Director Karen Bowermaster (610-481-0242 / bb@asburylv.org) to make an appointment to tour the facility.  For security purposes, tours are not given during school hours. Afternoon are available Monday-Thursday between the hours of 12:30-3:00.
